tables from a grandma's eyes

Well hello--I have decided to take the blog out of "moth balls" and do a post!  Kelly's blog at Kelly's Korner asks us to share our tables with one another.  Since I am much older that those who post, I'm kind of an "antique" with my decorating and it doesn't look as updated as most of you  girls that show case yours...but I thought it might be fun for you to see some tables from this Granny's house!

My dining room table is not used as much as it has been in the past.  I have a bunch of clear glass candle holders, some with candles and some without.  The first picture is pretty light so I did a close-up of the center piece.

a hearth side table in the family room
an antique towel bar table which has a spot on a small empty wall in the family room
lamp table in living room--please notice "lambie" an antique ceramic sheep from the east coast
my reading table in the living room--it has a nice choice of books to quietly read

antique coffee table which I have decided to leave pretty open without a lot of stuff on it

I'm sure pianos don't count, but they have a flat top that has to be decorated....the piano is an antique also.  I received it for my tenth birthday seventy years ago--that must make it an antique!

This is a special table in celebration of my Mother's 90th birthday.  She was a doll, always dressed beautifully.  We called her our Nordstrom's girl!  Its been 12 years and we miss her, her prayers for all of us daily, and her wonderful dinner parties!!

I have a wonderful kitchen table which came out too dark and my favorite table of all is my work table in my craft room.  It was just too messy to take a picture of it for now...but it is a table that gets lots of use!

I live in Portland and was pleasantly surprised to find your blog while looking for information on Jim Elliot. I got caught up reading lots of your other posts that had nothing to do with him, but that I found encouraging. So, thanks for bringing your blog out of the "moth balls!"

The pictures you shared of your tables is comforting and feels familiar (like being at my parents' house)... containing a lot of history and memories. Thank you for sharing.

Joan, Sooooooo good to see you. I noticed you'd dropped by my blog and just had to pay a return visit. I hope this means you're returning to the blogosphere?

I also hope this finds you doing well?

Warmest thoughts,
Kathleen
